The Identity Thief is an American comedy which was released in 2013 and the movie was written by Craig Mazin and directed by Seth Gordon. Identity Thief stars Jason Bateman as Sandy Bigelow Patterson and Melissa McCarthy as Diana/Dawn Budgie. The movie is about Sandy Bigelow Patterson whose identity is stolen by Diana Budgie. Diana Budgie loves burning money the only problem is that the ID she is using to cover her expenses belongs to Sandy Bigelow Patterson who is an account processor living on the other side of the country. So one day Patterson receives a call from a woman (Diana Budgie) telling him that someone tried to steal his identity. She informs him about the security service and asks his name, date of birth and social security number while he has no clue his identity it is just about the be stolen. After he realises his identity got stolen he decides to go after the woman getting his identity back but Patterson has only one week to find the thief who is using his identity. So the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson heads to Denver to confront the woman and get his stolen identity back but soon Sandy has to realise that getting back his name is not as easy as he imagined.
Identity Thief is an average comedy with few laughs. The movie generally received only negative reviews and critics.
