“The claim code you entered isn’t working. Please ensure there are no spaces and try again. If this problem continues, please contact Amazon Customer Service at Video Help and refer to error 2039.”
Since December 23rd and available until January 4th Amazon.com has launched a 75% discount on films that can be rented on their website. I wanted to use this great discount, but as I tried to redeem my discount coupon I simply got the following message: “The claim code you entered isn’t working. Please ensure there are no spaces and try again. If this problem continues, please contact Amazon Customer Service at Video Help and refer to error 2039.”
I tried to do a lot of stuff to fix the problem, and here are some advises from me to you:
- Make sure that you have a shipping address in the USA.
- Make sure that you have an American IP address.
- Make sure that you have a payment card registered in the USA.
I had an Entropay card registered to my account, but seems as if that does not work anymore, so I deleted my Entropay card, and that made it possible for me actually to pay for the video (and used my Gift Card Balance as payment method instead). However, the problem was still not solved, because I got the 2039 error no matter what I did. So, in the end I rented the video at full price… and guess what, the discount was given, even though I never got a message that the discount was actually given to me.
And, as I have read on other blogs on the Internet I see that the same is true for quite a lot of other people as well, meaning that even though they get the error message, they actually get the discount upon purchasing. I can of course not guarantee this, but if you feel no risk in trying, then go ahead and try it!
