The Robin Hood movie from 2018 starring Taron Egerton in the role as Robin Hood has received worse critics than any other Robin Hood movie before. At Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a 15% critics score (which is terrible). Luckily, the audience score is doing a bit better and it is at 41%.

Over at the Internet Movie Database, things are much brighter for Robin Hood. There it has a 5,1/10 score. This isn’t a good score, but at least it sounds much better than the 15% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Should you watch Robin Hood on HBO Now?

If you are interested, of course you should! I didn’t get to see this movie while it was in the cinema, but I watched it yesterday on HBO Now. It wasn’t the best movie I have ever seen (it was quite far from that), but for a movie to watch for 100 minutes to entertain and to give you a good time, it did a pretty good job. It is most likely a movie you will forget quickly, so once you are finished, you will start doing something else and the Robin Hood movie will be forgotten. But, it does serve its purpose to entertain for 100 minutes, so I am not going to complain.

I must warn you, Robin Hood isn’t as big a hero as you would expect. It felt kind of strange to watch the movie only to discover that Robin Hood would never have gotten anything done if it had not been for his helper John (Jamie Foxx) and without some final encouragements from Lady Mariann (Eve Hewson). That kind of surprised me, but who cares as long as there is a happy end and the bad guys are defeated?

Have you seen Robin Hood (2018) on HBO Now? Did you enjoy the movie or were you bored? Do you agree with all the terrible reviews online, or would you be more positive if you were to write your very own Robin Hood review? Write a comment and share your thoughts!
