The whole series is filmed in Ireland and the story of Vikings is inspired by the sagas of Viking Ragnar Lothbrok who is mythological Norse hero. The main characters in the series are Travis Fimmel as Viking Ragnar Lothbrok who is originally a farmer, Katheryn Winnick as Lagertha who is the first wife of Regnar, Clive Standen as Rollo who is Ragnar’s brother, Jessalyn Gilsig as Siggy who is Earl Haraldson’s wife and so on.
The series shows Ragnar as a farmer who gains power and success by raids into England and also becomes the king of Denmark. Ragnar is surrounded and supported by his family, his brother, his son, the princess, his views and fellow warriors as well.
The television series Vikings generally received positive and good feedbacks from the critics in which they mostly praised the emotional, social awakenings and the actor’s performances especially Flimmel’s act in the series, but others criticised that the series is only a simpleminded version of Game of Thrones.
The third season of Vikings premiered on 19th February 2015 and it was also renewed for a fourth season.
