National Treasure is an American adventure movie which was released in 2004 by Walt Disney. The movie was written by Jim Kouf, Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Marianne Wibberley and Cormac Wibberley and it was directed by Jon Turteltaub.
The main characters in the movie are Nicolas Cage as Benjamin Franklin Gates, Diane Kruger as Dr. Abigail Chase, Justin Bartha as Riley Poole, Jon Voight as Patrick Gates, Christopher Plummer as John Adam Gates, Sean Bean as Ian Howe and so on.
The story of the movie National Treasure follows the historian and amateur cryptologist Benjamin Franklin Gates who is searching for treasures, a jewellery, an artwork and other artworks that were hidden by American Freemasons during the American Revolutionary War. Gates discovers a hidden coded map on the back of the Declaration of Independence and the map shows the exact place where the treasures can be found. However Gates is not the only one who is looking for the ‘national treasure’ so he has to be quick to decode the map and find the lost treasures before someone else does.
The movie National Treasure received mixed feedbacks from the critics. National Treasure is an easy, fun, straightforward family adventure movie with predictable script.
